His formal education as a counseling psychologist, organizational psychologist, and intercultural communication trainer helps him take a multifaceted approach in developing and delivering his workshops. As a counseling psychologist he has worked extensively on issues of mental health and human behavior in culturally diverse populations and multicultural organizations.

Career Overview

Dr. Karim has a very special place in his heart for educational institutions. He has worked in this sector for over 10 years. Before launching his career as a full time consultant he served as Senior Associate Director and Assistant Professor of 'Leadership Studies and Programs' for Kansas State University. He is a frequently requested keynote speaker and workshop trainer.

In the education sector he has worked locally and internationally as a consultant, trainer, and facilitator on a wide variety of topics with a special emphasis on:

Dr. Karim was the recepient of the Maj. General John Allison, Educator of the Year, USAFSOS, 2007. He also won the Commerce Bank Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher, 2005, at Kansas State University. He has authored and coauthored books, book chapters, and articles on leadership, intercultural competence, and study abroad. Leadership Studies & Programs, Kansas State University has named a student award " Dr. Ata Ul Karim Inclusive Leadership Award" in his honor at his departure from K-state after 10 years of service.
